Default How's WoW:TBC?

(NOTE: No flaming.)

For the most part, I'm done with Guild Wars. I have max Weapons on most of my characters, Vabbian Armor on my Necro (can't get much higher), and still 200k in the bank. There's nothing else for me to do. And my pessimism and anger toward Gaile is reaching an all-time high. I had hoped that Domain of Anguish would hold me in, like Sorrow's Furnace did before Factions was released, but alas.

Therefore, I may be looking to resubscribe to World of Warcraft and starting a new character. I had played WoW since release, taking several breaks (mainly for Guild Wars, obviously), and I managed to get 2 lv. 60s. (Rogue and Warrior) I've been following the talent changes, and it seems that Blizzard did a good job at balancing and making even the less-playable professions more enjoyable to play. I, for one, drool at the Affliction Talent Tree for Warlocks (i.e, it's comparable to a massive Hexing build in Guild Wars, which would be appropriate for a Necromancer primary player!).

So, for those who are playing the game and/or entered the TBC beta, is the expansion content worth starting a new character?

i'm right behind u there zinger. i've completed all the quests and missions and for 4 characters and i'm look for something new.

i talk to my neighbor all the time about this beacuse he has 4 lvl 60 chars and just really good at it. bascily, getting the expansion is a MUST beacuse you if you don't, then you cannot get to lvl 70. plus, you can't use the new weapons, new armor, the blood elfs, the orchs, etc, etc, etc.

oh, and the 40 man raids will be reduced to 25 people. so getting to lvl 70 is a must!!!

basicly, you'l just behind everyone else if you don't. i have never made an account, but i eventually will after the expansion comes out.

Well, of course I'll buy TBC if I go back to WoW. The question I'm asking if it's worth it or not.

(And I don't care about high-end PvE raiding. I'm 16 years old. Do the math.)

No offence here guys and it's not meant as a flame but surely this would be better off posted in a WoW forum? Plenty of them about.

No..this is a good place to discuss this. There is nothing wrong with discussing another game.

if it was another game, say MapleStory, no one would mind... so WoW is no exception. Burning Crusade is like WoW x 2 <--- double the content, 2nd continent... alot to explore.

The only thing I hate about WoW:TBC is that they used Napoleon Dynamite's Dance for the Male Blood Elf...I'm not going to say that they copied Guild Wars' Male Ritualist Dance but it is kind of suspiscious..

Maple Story got SO boring for me!
It's just grind, grind, grind in that game..

Prob going to DL the free trial tomorrow when I'm a little more sober lol I'd post on the official site but it seems you need an active WoW account before you can post. Guru WoW site sucks..some threads haven't had responses in months.

I got bored with GW and got WoW. It's fairly nice once you find who you want to play. It's a very different playstyle from GW but more to do, and always something to better yourself.

My main concern is the level..60..it took me nearly 2 months to level my first GW char to 20 (I got a bit bored and slacked off a bit) I'm not sure if I'll even hit 60 in WoW

I just resubscribed to WoW for the same reasons stated above. Yeah i have spent about 1 month total on my character and he is only lvl 22 >.< Its pretty pathetic but the world is so much more expansive and black hole sucky your soul type things happen.

To put things into perspective, it takes me constantly 30 minutes to level from 1-5, 2 hours to level from 5-10, and 10 hours to level from 10-20. (but, if you do instances, it can go faster at 18-20)Obviously, it's exponentional from there. (at levels 50+, it's a few hours per level)

But a note: There's a rested bonus. You get double EXP if you don't play for a long enough time (a week not playing the game = 1.5 levels of double EXP)

Although I'm unsure whether to join an RP or a PvP server this time as a Blood Elf Warlock...

This is a very nice feature, if I one day decide to continue my druid, I will have loads of rest. The problem is 60 is a little high for me too, I'm still trying to figure out what class and whether to do pvp or normal servers. I imagine once I find out what I like, I'll stick with it though.

The Rest cap is the 1.5 levels.

And it doesn't have to be not playing the game a week. The Rest cap will probably move faster than your level ups when you reach level 50+
